H.B. Fuller Company Announces Twin Cities Grants

This June, the H.B. Fuller Company Foundation announced $75,000 in grants to 11 nonprofits in the Twin Cities metro area. These grants support STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education and youth leadership development programs for youth in our headquarters community. The H.B. Fuller Company Foundation’s grants are employee directed: a committee of employee volunteers brings our commitment to philanthropy to life by learning about each of our grantees and visiting their programs to find out how support from H.B. Fuller can make a difference.

Since 1986, H.B. Fuller has been supporting communities around the world where our employees live and work through the H.B. Fuller Company Foundation. In 2018, H.B. Fuller gave $1.4 million to support STEM education and youth leadership development, as well as other causes selected by employees.

STEM Education:

  • ACES, to support after-school programming using sports to get students excited about math.
  • Centro Tyrone Guzman, for a student-led program using gardening to explore STEM education.
  • Community School of Excellence, to support the Asian Penguins Computer Club, through which students build hands-on programming skills and donate restored computers to families in need in their community.
  • The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library, for a range of STEM-focused programs offered across 13 library branches.
  • Project Success, to support technology and coding education.
  • ServeMinnesota, for the Minnesota Math Corps program, providing math tutoring to elementary and middle school students.
  • YWCA of Minneapolis, for the Girls, Inc. Eureka! program, engaging girls in STEM education.

     

    Youth Leadership:

  • Big City Mountaineers, to support outdoor expeditions that build social and emotional learning and leadership skills for under-resourced youth.
  • Casa de Esperanza, for a youth-led and culturally-based community advocacy and leadership program focused on ending domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Urban Boatbuilders, to offer a hands-on boatbuilding apprenticeship program that builds leadership skills for youth facing barriers to success.
  • Voyageur Outward Bound School, for outdoor experiential leadership programs for urban youth.
